A while back I did an article on the low season in Thailand and why some people think that is the best time to travel. We touched on some topics such as prices, hotels, general service from businesses and the overall pros of that time of the year. Now I want to give some pointers about the high season in Thailand – since many people ask me “when is best to go to Thailand”? In this segment you will gain some insight as to when it begins and which months are the best time to visit.
When Does Peak Season Start?
The high season in Thailand starts around the middle of October, and keeps going until around middle of March. There is a gradual increase in tourists until it peaks, right around December, January and February. Around February it slowly starts to taper off.
Expensive Airfare Tickets in Thailand
At this busy time you will find that international airfare tickets are at there highest. Also many local routes within the country get full pretty fast. Many tourist book their tickets well in advance. They don’t want to pay premium prices for fights in and out of Thailand. 
Expensive Hotel Prices
Expect hotels to charge a premium for their room during the high season. As more tourist think that this is the best time to visit to Thailand, the hotel rooms get booked quicker. Due to less supply, hotels can charge much higher then they normally do. Travelers have no other choice than to pay the high prices.
More Crowds in Thailand During The High Season
Expect more crowds during the peak season. Some people prefer this and others don’t. Some like it when it is more busy as the overall feeling of the scene seems more fulfilling. The shops are busier. Restaurants are fully staffed. Tour excursion trips and events are up and running to their maximum potential. Single male travelers also prefer the high season in Thailand. It means more there are more women around. The beer bars and go go bars are a exciting place to be due to the high influx of tourists in the country. 
Amazing Weather Conditions
Perfect weather conditions is one of the major factors causing more travelers to come to Thailand during the high season. Expect the best conditions from the month of December through to February. It barely rains, and the heat and humidity is very tolerable. Now don’t get me wrong, it is still VERY hot, but in the evenings it gets very pleasant. Unlike the rainy season where the heat and humidity is just uncomfortable.
Forget About The Monsoon – Forget About The Rain.
Another good point is that you will bypass the rainy months. You will enjoy a worry free vacation. Traveling during the monsoon is no fun. It can rain for days on end, even causing flooding at times. Although this is not common, it is still one factor that many people consider when planning there holiday. 
Christmas Holidays and New Years
It is interesting that during the holidays, just when many people want to vacation, it is also the best weather in Thailand. This causes more people to travel at that time of the year. It is a major reason for the massive amounts of tourists during the high season. Another factor is that Thailand is a very enchanting and fun place to be. It can be an excellent place to celebrate the holidays and ring in the New Year. The red light districts will be packed and exciting. There will be the maximum amount of entertainment available.
The Best Months To Visit Thailand
If you are planning to travel at the peak season then I recommend to go during the months of December, January, and February. These months are almost flawless in terms of sunshine and humidity. Expect beautiful clear skies, and tolerable temperatures. You can enjoy all that Thailand has to offer. It is a vibrant and exciting time when many other tourists will be traveling. The weather should be a deciding factor if you are coming here specifically for enjoying the beautiful beaches or islands. Thailand has some some of the nicest beaches in the world and it really deserves to be experienced during the best weather.
Final Thoughts on the High Season in Thailand
Thailand is truly an amazing country and it can be fun to travel to at all times of the year. That being said, I must admit that it can be a bit more fun being here during the high season. Everything seems more busy. Service is slightly better, and the weather is the best it will ever be, especially from December to February. Not to mention that the beer bars and go go bars are fully staffed with hot Thai girls. I recommend for everyone to experience the high season in Thailand so they can see it for themselves.
